I would like to thank Cincinnati Magazine for including the Avondale Pride Mural in The Best of the City issue. The article Walls of Fame written by William Powell, features other great ArtWorks Murals that where created by young apprentices led by Teaching Artist. It was an honor to work with ArtWorks this past summer and once again thank you Avondale Youth Council for inspiring me and my co-manager, Amanda Colley and our team of talented apprentices, in making your vision become a reality.

In conjunction with the current exhibition at the Taft Museum of Art, George Inness in Italy, I will be apart of the series A Place For Art ,where I will share how place and environment influence Inness’s and my work. American Painter George Inness (1825 – 1894) is remembered for his tonal style of landscape painting. His travels to Italy had a profound impact on his desire to be recognized as a great Master and his spiritual view of nature and the human condition. Inness traditionally looked to other artist for inspiration and created his on voice in landscape painting to latter become a master in his own right. Like Inness I am also inspired by my environment and the work of artist both past and contemporary who inspire my paintings and their spiritual significance. Last week painter/sculpture and Xavier University Fine Art Professor Kelly Phelps, brought his Senor art students to see my work. Kelly Phelps is one half of the dynamic Duo Kelly and Kyle Phelps who do amazing sculptures that relate to social and economic concerns. Its was an honor to share with the young aspiring artist and art educators my journey as an artist and the experiences I remember as a student who once walked in their shoes. In conjunction with the Constella Festival of Music and Fine Arts, Encore is and exhibition themed around the concert concept of contemporary miniatures. The exhibition will feature art work by Leah Bush,Christopher Daniel, Stuart Fink, Andrey Kozakov, Sara Perce, Casey Riordan Millard, Mark Schlachter, Kim Wattling, Rondle West and Sandra Gross and Lisa Merida-Paytes who curated this exhibition. Thank you Lisa and Sandra for including my work in this one night extravaganza and for pulling together this cast of artist.

Myself along with painters Beth Goldstein and Mary Barr Rhoads will be featured together in the exhibition Transformation: Interpretation of Space and Place. The physical environment of the inner city and the dense architectonic shapes which reference musical allegories and all over pictorial rhythm are a consistent theme in my work. Complimenting the theme of the exhibition, I will present a compilation of paintings that I have completed over the past two to three years. Though the subject matter and intent remains the same in these works, there is a shift with how space and place with my subjects is interpreted.
